nighthawks - album cover - update

I have decided to design three singles, for my fictional band. So far i have, 'healing with colour' (top pic) and 'between the galaxies', the 3rd is a work in progress. They keep evolving, and so far I like 'between the galaxies' the best, so I may change the rest, to have black backgrounds. I really think it has the best name, as the images remind me slightly of the pictures you see of distant galaxies, or the northern lights, on 'the sky at night'./////////// i just added the promo poster for the band, its a 1st draft , so there is still a lot of work to do before the final draft.

nighthawks - album cover

CD album cover for a fictional band called 'nighthawks' ( i got the band and album name by randomly stumbling through wikipedia). I have combined some of the techniques that I learned from my earlier posts, below, to create the artwork. This isn't the finished article, because its late now, and i've been on this all day, that will follow shortly, along with an accompanying promotional poster.

cd cover design exp

not sure about these images, the spaceman doesn't really say electro, i was going for the space age sounds thing...... thought i would post them anyway.

cd cover design

So i bought this book online the other day "thinking visually" by Mark Wigan, its a book filled with cool illustrations, and covers key areas of illustration through a series of case studies featuring some of todays best known illustrators. At the back of the book it has about 20 briefs, which is pretty cool.

This is my quick attempt at one of them, designing a CD cover for a greatest hits, best of, CD. Hopefully more to follow.....

Poster Design

A modern take of the classic tale of Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm. The old lady was replaced by Ronald McDonald, and the house of cakes was made into a giant Big Mac.
